Mobile phones are an important part of life for everyone. From small children to old people, everyone uses mobile phones. In this era, students are seen using mobile phones more than people who are eligible to use them. Students think they are eligible but they are not. The persons who are actually eligible are the ones who know how to use it ethically, and responsibly. To be eligible students must know about its drawbacks which are important. Students only talk about their advantages and are unaware about its disadvantage.
First, mobile phones are the most harmful tooles for the students’ studies, but they don’t realize it. Students have stopped being creative. They rely on mobile phones for everything. Currently students are seen using powerful AI tools like Chat gpt, Gemini, Grok, Claude, Opera, etc. They think that copying from AI enhances their knowledge but the truth is that it absorbs all of their creativity and the skill of critical thinking. The lack of critical-thinking skills and creativity will affect their studies.
Secondly, too much use of mobile phones causes mental and physical problems/health issues. Using too much mobile phones damages our eyesight. Nowadays we can see small children of around 3-4 years old wearing glasses. If this keeps happening, children may face serious problems n the future. Sitting all day in front of a T.V or using mobiles not only causes eye problems but also leads to poor posture. In addition to that, it also causes mental problems. Such as depression, anxiety, wanting to stay isolated etc. These problems are some really serious one. It can affect the children from a young age.
Thirdly, the main problem that the students of this generation face is social anxiety. We all know what causes it. Obviously, it is because of the excessive use of mobiles. Children start using mobiles from a young age. They don’t interact or talk with anyone. They just want to stay isolated. They don’t learn how to communicate with others. The lack of communication skills affects their social life. This leads to stage fright, social anxiety and many more problems. Without the ability to communicate, it would be difficult for them to lead a successful life.
We all blame students for using too much mobile phones, for being addicted to it. But have we ever thought about the reason why they are addicted? We only see the mistakes of students but we don’t see the role of multiple companies causing it all. It is clear that using phone is interesting, fun and entertaining, so each and every student use it. Multinational companies are investing more and more money trying to encourage user engagement that creates addictive patterns. Students being addicted to it is beneficial for the companies. The more students get addicted the more they use it. They start to buy premium features or devices this makes the companies earn more. Companies only think about their benefits not about the students’ future. That is why it is important that students are aware of it.
In conclusion, mobile phones are tools that can make or break a student’s future. That’s why it is a must to use mobiles responsibly and ethically. In order to lead a successful and well-equipped life, students must reduce the uses of mobile phones in their daily life.
